Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist at our feline only veterinary clinic, where your energetic and compassionate approach will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals. In this vital role, you will facilitate smooth clinic operations by managing appointments, handling client communications, and supporting veterinary staff with administrative and clinical tasks. Your enthusiasm for animal care and excellent organizational skills will help create a welcoming environment that promotes pet health and owner satisfaction. The position is full-time - with hours available Mon, Tues or Thurs 7-5, Wed and Fri 7-4. Typical work week is 40 hours usually four ten hour days but this can be flexible. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly and efficiently check in and out feline patients for appointments and surgeries. Handle incoming calls for appointments, care questions, prescription refills, and more. Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-up care. Process payments, manage invoicing, and schedule future appointments with attention to detail. Assist veterinary staff with animal handling and inputting client and patient information.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a veterinary office is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus! Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners, veterinary and shelter staff. Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor.

PALS Feline Veterinary Services is a feline only, low-cost, non-profit clinic in Winthrop, ME looking to expand our team to make a bigger difference! We operate on a drop-off only basis providing low-cost routine and urgent care, high-quality high-volume spay/neuter, and dentistry to client-owned cats, PALS No-Kill Cat Shelter, and nearby shelters and rescues.
