Job Description
Job Overview Small, established law office seeking a dependable, friendly receptionist. This is primarily a front-desk and client-service position, not a paralegal or legal assistant position. Responsibilities Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally and direct callers to the appropriate person Take complete and accurate telephone messages, including the caller's name, contact information, reason for calling, and other relevant details Greet and seat clients Schedule and confirm appointments from telephone and internet inquiries Ask basic, simple intake questions and accurately record information Schedule follow-up appointments as necessary Make copies and ensure files are ready for scheduled appointments Prepare and mail standard correspondence with appropriate independence Accept client payments by telephone and in person, maintain accurate records of all payments received, and prepare weekly payment reports Keep the reception area, kitchen and copier areas orderly Perform other routine front-office tasks as needed Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, professional, pleasant with clients and coworkers, and takes pride in being a dependable member of a small office. Consistent attendance and reliability are essential to this position. We value employees who arrive as scheduled, are ready to work, and bring a positive, attitude to the office each day. Confidentiality is paramount. This position involves access to sensitive client and firm information, and the successful candidate must exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality at all times. The right person will be able to learn established procedures, take instruction, work independently on routine tasks, and recognize when a question should be referred to someone else. Basic computer skills and attention to detail are required. Prior law-office experience is not required. Reliability, good judgment, stability and a strong work ethic matter more to us than prior legal experience. Schedule Approximately 20-25 hours per week, Monday-Friday. We offer flexibility in how those hours are arranged and are open to a combination of morning and afternoon shifts. The specific schedule will be agreed upon at hiring and will remain consistent from week to week. No evenings or weekends. Pay & Benefits $17.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Opportunity for early pay advancement based on performance evaluations Paid time off Generous paid holidays and extended holiday weekends throughout the year Regular weekday schedule with no evenings or weekends
