Help us run the front desk and keep our events on track! The Robot Garage is looking for a friendly, dependable front desk associate to join our team in Birmingham, Michigan. We are a small business that offers fun, hands-on experiences in robotics, coding, and engineering. As a front desk associate, you help facilitate these awesome activities from the front desk, serving as our information center, concierge, booking agent and brand ambassador. Think of the best customer service you've ever received—that is the standard we strive for every day. We are looking for curious individuals who can intelligently assist customers of all ages and build genuine trust with the families who walk through our doors.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Concierge:
Act as the warm, primary point of contact for families, building immediate rapport and trust with parents to ensure a seamless drop-off experience.Event Booking:
Clearly explain and book birthday parties, classes, and our educational field trips with schools around Metro Detroit.Operational Support:
Fluidly transition between classrooms to act as the first line of support for event and class staff.Safety & Logistics:
Maintain emergency forms for kids in camps and weekend workshops.Sales & Transactions:
Accurately complete transactions for merchandise, classes, field trips and party payments, including handling returns according to company policy.Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Basic knowledge of technology and willingness to learn about our products and operations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers of all ages. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues as needed. Availability to work evenings (classes run till 7pm) and weekends.Opportunities:
While our present need is to fill holes in our front desk schedule, most people who have started in this position grow into a full time role. As a small business we have built a close-knit team that tries to value and utilize the individual talents of each person. We try to assign projects and responsibilities to match each team member's strengths. Sales, event planning, grant writing, teaching, video/photography, web design, FIRST robotics, and curriculum development are some of the potential growth areas that would be great for a new team member to have interest and skills in.Pay:
