Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs all duties of a Clinic receptionist including, but not limited to, answering telephones, patient check-in, patient check-out, collecting patient demographic and insurance information, insurance verification, payment collection, posting charges/payments to EMR, daily deposit balancing, and preparing daily bank deposits. Participates in clinical Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Patient Safety/Infection Control Programs. Patient appointment management which includes scheduling, confirmation of appointments, triaging incoming calls, and management of missed appointments. Assists interns and faculty with insurance and payment related questions. Assists interns and faculty with billing, coding, and posting charges to EHR. Ensures the front desk and waiting room area are clean and presentable. Communicates effectively with patients, solving concerns politely, promptly and effectively. Communicates effectively and professionally with all faculty, students, and staff members. Assists with all aspects of clinic functions including optical and technician duties when needed. Other duties as assigned or as needs arise relating to the effective implementation of the clinical program. Minimum Qualifications Education - A High School Diploma or GED. Physical Requirements Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Work Environment Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office. Salary/Pay Information Commensurate with experience
