Duties Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate with physicians, patients, and surgical teams to confirm appointments and prepare necessary documentation Greet patients with enthusiasm, assist with check-in procedures, and ensure accurate collection of patient information Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to update patient data and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA policies Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and facilitate billing using medical coding standards including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and Medicare guidelines Review medical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing clear information and directing calls efficiently Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure timely documentation review for accuracy and compliance Skills Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for efficient data entry and retrieval Proficiency in medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and insurance processes including health insurance knowledge and Medicare procedures Excellent customer service skills with a friendly phone etiquette and the ability to handle patient inquiries compassionately Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated clinic experience or medical office experience with familiarity in medical terminology and health information management Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and typing (10 key typing) for administrative tasks Capable of managing multiple priorities with strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment Join us to make a meaningful difference by supporting surgical teams and enhancing patient experiences through energetic service delivery!
