Thunder Bay Community Health Service (TBCHS) is looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive experience while helping connect individuals and families with the healthcare services they need. What You'll Do As a Receptionist, you will: Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion. Answer incoming multi-line phone calls and assist patients with questions. Schedule appointments and help coordinate patient care. Verify insurance information and update electronic health records. Collect co-pays, process payments, and balance daily collections. Protect confidential patient information while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Connect patients with valuable TBCHS services, including insurance enrollment, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, transportation assistance, and financial assistance programs. Help ensure smooth daily clinic operations through excellent customer service and teamwork. What We're Looking For We're seeking someone who: Has outstanding customer service and communication skills. Enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds. Is organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a busy healthcare environment. Works well independently while also being a supportive team member. Takes initiative, learns quickly, and maintains a positive attitude. Is committed to providing every patient with an exceptional experience. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of related customer service, receptionist, or administrative experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
