Job Description
Receptionist - Part-Time Position Wood CPA seeks a Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our small accounting firm. This is an in-person role at our office in Edina, with an hourly rate of $18.00-$20.00 , depending on experience. The part-time hours are Monday-Thursday between 9:00 and 3:00, with the possibility of additional hours during tax season or other peak periods. As a small firm, Wood CPA values accuracy, professionalism, client service, and teamwork. - Welcome clients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner
- Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls and take accurate messages
- Schedule client appointments and assist with calendar coordination
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
- Assist with scanning, copying, filing, data entry, and document organization
- Respond to general email questions
- Update CRM to ensure projects are in the correct step
- Prepare packages for mail
- Maintain confidentiality when handling client information, tax documents, and firm communications
- Monitor office supplies and notify the appropriate team member when items need to be reordered
- Other functions as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher education
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, office phones, printers, scanners, and basic office technology
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
- Positive attitude, reliability, punctuality, and willingness to help where needed
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Comfortable working independently while keeping owner informed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous receptionist, customer service, or office administration
- Basic familiarity with accounting, bookkeeping, or tax office operations
- Experience with HubSpot, TaxDome, Canva, Calendly
- Desire to create efficiencies within the role
