Job Description
Description We are looking for a welcoming and organized Receptionist to support daily front desk operations for a non-profit organization in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This 6-week Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys being the first point of contact for visitors and callers while keeping communication flowing smoothly throughout the office. The person in this role will help create a positive experience for guests, manage incoming calls efficiently, and provide dependable administrative support in a part-time capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors warmly, direct them to the appropriate staff members, and maintain an attentive front desk presence throughout the day.
- Manage a multi-line phone system by answering incoming calls promptly, transferring calls accurately, and taking clear messages when needed.
- Respond to general inquiries from callers and guests while ensuring each interaction reflects a courteous and helpful approach.
- Support day-to-day reception activities, including monitoring the front area and assisting with basic administrative tasks as assigned.
- Coordinate communication between departments by routing phone traffic efficiently and relaying important information in a timely manner.
- Maintain an orderly reception space that helps create a positive and welcoming environment for visitors and team members.
- Provide dependable part-time coverage for front desk operations and help ensure consistent service during scheduled hours. Requirements
- Previous experience performing front desk or receptionist duties in an office setting.
- Ability to operate a multi-line or switchboard phone system with accuracy and confidence.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a service-oriented demeanor.
- Comfortable handling a high volume of inbound calls while remaining organized and attentive to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize work effectively in a busy environment.
- Reliable availability for a part-time contract assignment.
- Experience supporting administrative or office operations in a non-profit or similar organization is a plus.
