Job Description Family Practice of Grand Island, PC is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and motivated Bilingual Front Desk Receptionist to join our busy and growing clinic! The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Past clinic experience, ability to multi-task, excellent time-management skills, and knowledge of computer programs is desired.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regularly and predictably attend work. Answer phone in a professional and courteous manner. Triage medical emergencies as outlined in procedure manual and by physician staff. Page appropriate personnel at the appropriate times as outlined in procedure manual. Document patient messages and send to appropriate clinic personnel. Announce and direct clinic personnel and patients, in the event the evacuation of the building is necessary, in the case of an emergency, such as fire or tornado. Record and update the night message daily. Turn phones on in the morning and switch phones over to answering service at end of day. Assists patient accounts and insurance departments as needed. Comply with HIPAA confidentiality. High school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in switchboard. Other duties or specialty jobs as assigned.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Possess knowledge of computers and their function in the medical work place. Ability to operate a multi-line phone system. Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another. Planning and time-management abilities which facilitate work flow and task accomplishment. Ability to perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. Respond appropriately to changing situations. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers.

Must possess effective written/oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with Family Practice Employees and the public in a professional and effective manner, as required by Essential Job Duties. Must be able to do simple to moderate complexity math calculations, as required by Essential Job Duties. Must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines, as required by Essential Job Duties. Frequent mental alertness and attention to detail required throughout work shift, as required by Essential Job Duties.
TRAINING
The Switchboard Operator will be trained in the proper use of office equipment including training on the computer and our current software. The Switchboard Operator will also be trained in proper documentation and office forms. Knowledge of office policies will be included in the training. Wage DOE .
