Trude's Dog Motel has been providing warm, personal service to our canine companions since 1963 just east of Lincoln on North 112th St. We're looking for two Kennel Assistants to join our team and play an important role in both caring for dogs and connecting with their owners. This position is a mix of hands-on animal care and front desk responsibilities, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys variety in their day and being part of a team. You'll be involved in everything from daily care routines to welcoming dogs in, sending them home happy, and making sure each stay is handled with attention to detail. We take pride in creating a place where dogs are well cared for and owners feel completely at ease leaving them with us. Our team works closely together to keep things running smoothly while continuing to improve the experience for both our guests and their people. What You'll Do Care for dogs by feeding, watering, and monitoring their well-being Clean and maintain kennels and common areas to keep the space safe and comfortable Safely handle dogs of all sizes and personalities Check dogs in and out, helping owners feel confident and informed Create and manage invoices and payments accurately Keep records organized and up to date Coordinate with on-site veterinary clinic for any necessary vaccines or examinations Support a positive, calm, and well-run environment for both dogs and clients What We're Looking For The right person for this role is dependable, positive, and takes pride in doing things well. You'll stand out if you bring: Confidence interacting with people and providing great customer service Previous experience working with animals in a customer-facing role A strong work ethic and reliability A team-first mindset and willingness to jump in where needed Attention to detail, especially with scheduling and billing Initiative and the ability to stay productive throughout the day Professionalism and integrity A genuine interest in animal care and creating a great experience for clients Rotating holidays and weekends are required Pre-vet students are welcome to apply to this non-clinical role.
