Front Desk Coordinator | The Concept Salon (Marlboro, NJ) You know that feeling when you walk into a place and everything just works? The energy is good, the team is on the same page, and nothing feels chaotic or thrown together. That's the environment at The Concept Salon, and it's exactly what you'd be stepping into. We're The Concept, a team-based salon and blowout bar in Marlboro, NJ, and we're looking for someone who doesn't just want to "work the front desk," but actually enjoys being the person who keeps everything moving. The person who naturally stays a step ahead, notices what needs to be done without being told, and takes pride in creating an experience that people remember and come back for. This role matters more than people think. You're not just answering phones or booking appointments, you're setting the tone for the entire salon. From the first call to checkout, you're the reason someone's whole experience feels smooth, welcoming, and put together. A typical day means you're managing the flow of the salon in real time, handling calls, booking appointments, checking clients in and out, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. You're keeping an eye on the details, supporting the team where needed, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. It's a fast-paced environment, but for the right person, it's the kind of busy that makes the day go by quickly and leaves you feeling productive, not drained. What you get out of this is just as important. You'll be working in a clean, well-run space with a team that actually cares about what they're doing. There are clear expectations, so you're not guessing your way through the day, and you'll receive ongoing training so you continue to improve instead of feeling stuck. You should be comfortable communicating with all types of personalities, paying attention to details, and handling multiple things at once without letting things fall apart. On the flip side, if you need constant direction, struggle to stay organized, or are just looking for something temporary, this probably won't be the right fit. Schedule The schedule is subject to change with the changing needs of the business. Currently, we're looking for: Monday 9am-3pm Tuesday 9am-6pm Wednesday 9am-3pm Every other Saturday 8am-6pm Plus the day before major holidays (we are closed on the holidays themselves) Requirements At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced environment such as a salon, retail, restaurant, or hospitality setting Must live within 30 minutes and have reliable transportation Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable using computers, including Google systems and booking software Salon experience is a plus, but not required Cosmetology license is preferred, but not required Responsibilities include: Managing incoming calls and booking appointments Welcoming clients and creating a strong first impression Keeping the salon running smoothly throughout the day Supporting inventory, retail, and back bar organization Maintaining cleanliness and overall presentation of the space Handling transactions and maintaining register accuracy Jumping in to handle issues before they become problems Compensation Based on experience and performance.
