In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and updating electronic health records (EHR). Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance authorization and verification, and handle billing processes including medical collection efforts. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries promptly. Review and maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies and documentation standards. Assist with clinical documentation review, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for billing purposes, and support medical coding tasks. Support office management activities such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR) using systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix. Coordinate with healthcare providers on care plans, medical documentation review, and follow-up appointments to optimize patient care delivery. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or clinic environment with familiarity in front desk operations and medical administrative support. Strong computer skills including proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Eaglesoft. Knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, Medicare procedures, HIPAA regulations, and health information management. Experience with medical billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and documentation review is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and effective multi-line phone system handling. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, data entry, and record keeping. Familiarity with dental terminology or dental office experience is advantageous for dental clinic roles.
