Job Description
Overview (please read all requirements before applying) We are seeking a dynamic and vigilant Security Officer / Receptionist to join our team, dedicated to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. This role combines proactive security measures with exceptional customer service, ensuring the safety of personnel, visitors, and assets while providing a professional front-of-house presence. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding security protocols with a positive attitude that enhances the overall experience for everyone who enters our facility. Ideal candidate should be available to work the hours of 8:00am to 1:00pm Monday to Friday. Duties Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to oversee premises and identify suspicious activity or security breaches. Conduct thorough patrols of the property, including building interiors and exterior perimeters, utilizing access control systems to regulate entry and exit points. Respond swiftly to emergencies by following established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security threats; perform first aid and CPR when necessary. Write detailed incident reports documenting security events, breaches, or accidents accurately and promptly. Perform background checks on visitors or contractors as part of access control procedures to ensure compliance with security policies. Manage front desk operations by greeting visitors professionally, verifying identification, and directing them appropriately. Enforce security regulations through patrolling, conflict de-escalation techniques, conflict management strategies, and law enforcement collaboration when necessary. Conduct routine inspections using CCTV footage review and physical patrols to ensure ongoing physical security measures are effective. Assist in emergency response procedures by coordinating with first responders and executing evacuation plans efficiently. Other Duties as assign. Qualifications Proven experience in physical security roles. Knowledge of surveillance technology including CCTV systems and access control systems. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively, including heavy lifting when needed. Strong incident report writing skills with attention to detail and clarity. Demonstrated conflict de-escalation skills and conflict management abilities under pressure. Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor at all times. Ability to perform routine patrolling duties while maintaining high alertness levels throughout shifts. Knowledge of compliance with security regulations and emergency response procedures.
