Job Description
Princeton Day School is seeking a Temporary Admission Assistant and Receptionist to work in our Admissions department. This is a temporary non-exempt (hourly) position beginning early November 2026 through February 2027.This position will work 5-days a week in our office located in Princeton, NJ; Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, approximately 37.5 hours weekly. Hours may vary depending on business needs. For this position, the ideal candidate is expected to: Conduct and administer standardized assessments for Lower School applicants. Track and manage required documents for the Admission application files to ensure completion by deadline: update data in two admission databases, correspond with applicants regarding missing components via phone and email, scan and upload documents, and oversee the scoring of writing samples. Communicate with applicants' families by phone and email professionally and with a sense of urgency. Provide administrative support for admission-related tasks and events. Assist with preparation for admission committee meetings. Serve as receptionist to greet families and visitors and answer the phone.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Child Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or Special Education Early Childhood Classroom teaching or similar experience with children required Experience administering assessments a plus Knowledge of Independent Schools a plus Strong work ethic Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical and time management skills required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Outstanding organizational skills Ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing schedule Proficiency in technical skills, such as basic computer applications, database management, and basic digital literacy.Compensation Range :
