- Advanced Veterinary Care is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, exceptionally responsible, and positive individual to be our veterinary receptionist. We provide high-end veterinary care at an affordable price. Our patients always come first. Advanced Veterinary Care provides an optimistic environment for clients and team members alike. Our 3,800 sq foot building is state-of-the-art, clean and bright, and was built brand new in 2017. Aside from normal veterinary services, we offer advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries (by the owner/veterinarian, who will not be providing general practice care) and a diagnostic CT (CAT scan) machine. An unpaid lunch break is provided, with some variation due to patient load, daily from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm. The veterinary receptionist plays an extremely important role in the overall success of a veterinary practice. He or she is the first voice clients hear, the first person they meet, and do almost all of the non-medical communication. We want a receptionist who learns to know the clients and patients by name and makes them feel welcome. The receptionist sets the pace for the daily flow of appointments, and effective and kind communication with the back staff is a must. This position will be monitored and mentored by our office manager who has over 10 years of experience in the medical field, and 7 years of experience in our office. Experience in customer service is required. Benefits such as retirement plan matching, life insurance, and paid time off are available after a minimum employment period. The General Practice Receptionist duties will be to: Provide knowledgeable, courteous, and effective communication to clients Answer a high volume of phone calls and emails with professionalism Take and pass along accurate phone and email messages for the veterinarian Schedule the appropriate appointment type and length of appointment for pet visits Check patients and owners in for appointments Explain simple medical answers to owners, such as fasting for surgery Have a general knowledge of common medications such as heartworm preventative and flea and tick medications Complete payment transactions in several different payment forms Facilitate refill requests in a timely manner Effectively communicate intake questions and estimates Explain patient discharge instructions, when needed Accurately enter owner and patient data into our paperless record system Understand and explain estimates and take payment for deposits Communicate effectively with the veterinarian and veterinary technicians Take a proactive approach to ensure that every charged visit is paid for in full Balance end-of-day monies (under supervision of a manager) Communicate effectively with referring veterinarians or other veterinary offices Mail or email vaccination reminders to clients monthly Keep the front area clean and organized
