This vital role involves providing exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, through email and text services, managing front desk operations, managing a multi-line phone system, managing multiple email accounts and supporting veterinary staff with animal care tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organization and time management skills and familiarity with veterinary procedures and terminology. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic fast paced environment committed to animal health and client satisfaction. Duties Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out Escort clients and pets into the exam rooms Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and update medical information using veterinary software Enter charges and review client invoices for accuracy Prepare treatment plans for doctors to present to clients Request and print out lab requisition forms, and print out medication labels as needed Process payments and refunds accurately, maintain accuracy with the cash box Assist with all client communication in all communication forms regarding pet care instructions, follow-up appointments, and treatment plans Maintain front desk organization, restocking supplies at the front desk, answering phones, responding to emails, text messages, app messages and managing client inquiries Support veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations or procedures when needed Assist with kennel duties such cleaning rooms in between patients as needed and completing end of day cleaning tasks. Ensure the cleanliness of the reception area to uphold clinic hygiene standards The availability to stay late as needed Experience Minimum of 2 years prior veterinary clinic experience in reception or an administrative support role is required Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology is required Familiarity with veterinary software systems and Google Drive applications Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds This position requires a compassionate, dedicated individual with excellent organizational and time management skills who can multitask efficiently in a busy setting while maintaining a caring, kind and compassionate outlook toward animals and clients. The Veterinary Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and fostering a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.50 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
