Monday - Friday Riverdale Sports Physical Therapy is an established outpatient physical therapy and sports rehabilitation practice serving the Bronx community with high-quality, patient-centered care. Our practice also operates Federal Injury Specialists , a specialized division dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of federal employees with work-related injuries under the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA) . Together, we serve a diverse patient population that includes commercially insured patients, athletes, and federal workers navigating the OWCP/Department of Labor claims process. Our front desk team plays a critical role in keeping both sides of our practice running smoothly.The Roll:
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Front Desk Coordinator who brings a strong foundation in outpatient physical therapy administration — including commercial insurance verification, authorizations, and patient intake — combined with knowledge of workers' compensation , with a preference for candidates who have handled federalOWCP/DOL
cases . If you thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment, know how to navigate both commercial insurance and workers' comp processes, and genuinely enjoy helping patients, we want to hear from you. What You Will Do Greet and check in patients; manage scheduling, patient flow, and daily front desk operations Verify commercial insurance benefits, obtain prior authorizations, and process co-pays and referrals Handle workers' compensation intake, including verification of OWCP coverage, tracking claim numbers and case statuses, and coordinating with DOL district offices and case managers Collect and process patient intake forms, CA-1 and CA-2 documentation, and medical records Communicate with insurance companies, OWCP case managers, referring physicians, and therapists Answer phones, manage correspondence, and respond to patient and payer inquiries Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant records in the EMR system Assist with scheduling specialist referrals, follow-up appointments, and authorization renewals Requirements Minimum 1-2 years of front desk or administrative experience in an outpatient physical therapy or rehabilitation setting — required Experience with commercial insurance verification and authorizations in a PT practice — required Workers' compensation experience of any kind — required; federalOWCP/DOL
experience strongly preferred Candidates with no physical therapy front desk experience and no workers' compensation background will not be considered Familiarity with CA-1 and CA-2 claim forms, OWCP billing, and DOL authorization procedures is a significant advantage Proficiency with EMR/scheduling software; WebPT or similar systems a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities with professionalism Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required Competitive salary commensurate with experience How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and a brief cover letter describing your physical therapy front desk experience and your workers' compensation background — including any OWCP or federal workers' compensation experience.
