January 29, 2026 Summary / Objective The Dental Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, organized, and patient-centered experience. This position is responsible for managing front-desk operations, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, and supporting daily administrative needs in a growing, multi-specialty dental start-up.
Expected Schedule Wednesday:
9:00 AM - 6:00
PM Saturday:
9:00 AM - 2:00
PM Additional Hours:
May be available as the practice grows. Schedule flexibility and final hours will be discussed during the hiring process. Role Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and check them in and out efficiently. Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and manage voicemail messages. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments to optimize the daily schedule. Verify dental insurance eligibility and update patient records accurately. Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information. Perform appointment reminder and confirmation calls. Conduct post-operative follow-up calls as directed by the clinical team. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-desk area. Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient flow and scheduling needs. Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy. Support general administrative and operational tasks as needed in a start-up environment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office policies at the front desk. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with dental practice management software (Open Dental) preferred. Basic understanding of dental insurance and scheduling workflows. Attention to detail and strong time management skills. Patient-focused, professional, and dependable. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a dental or medical office preferred (entry-level candidates will be considered). Basic computer and phone skills. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Preferred Qualifications Dental office front-desk or receptionist experience. Familiarity with insurance verification and eligibility checks. Bilingual (Spanish or other language) a plus. Why Join Glow Dental?
