Medical Receptionist -
Urology Location:
Port Jefferson, NY Employment Type:
Direct Hire Pay Rate:
$22 per hour
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday; five 8.5-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. A well-established healthcare organization is seeking a professional and personable Medical Receptionist to join its busy urology practice in Port Jefferson. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays an important role in maintaining an efficient front office and positive patient experience. Responsibilities Greet and check in patients in a welcoming and professional manner Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments Verify patient demographics and insurance information Collect copayments and process patient payments Update and maintain accurate patient records Respond to patient questions, concerns, and requests Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff Support daily front-desk operations and patient flow Protect patient confidentiality and follow all applicable privacy requirements Manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office Qualifications At least one year of receptionist, front-desk, or customer service experience Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional and compassionate patient-facing demeanor Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively Basic computer proficiency Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred High school diploma or equivalent required Medical office or administrative training is a plus Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance beginning on the first day of employment Life insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage 401(k) plan with company contributions Generous paid time off Eight paid holidays, including two floating holidays Opportunities for professional growth and advancement
