It happens at reception. A client may be planning a custom home, arriving to discuss a commercial development or visiting our Dayton office for the first time. The welcome they receive sets the standard for everything that follows. That is why we are being particular about this hire. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people, brings good energy into the office and understands how to be warm without losing professionalism. You will become the familiar face clients recognize and the person our internal teams trust to keep appointments, visitors and important messages organized. The Day You Will Keep Running This is a busy reception desk with clients, contractors and professional partners regularly coming through the office.
Your responsibilities will include:
Greeting every visitor promptly and making them feel comfortable Managing the main appointment calendar and meeting-room schedule Answering telephone calls and directing inquiries correctly Sending appointment confirmations, reminders and follow-up messages Informing the correct department when a client arrives Preparing reception and meeting areas before appointments Offering refreshments and checking that visitors are looked after Recording accurate messages, contact details and agreed next steps Receiving deliveries and notifying the correct team member Keeping the front desk and shared client areas presentable Learning enough about our construction services to answer basic questions Referring detailed project, pricing or technical questions to the right colleague Your First Month With Us You will work closely with our Office Coordinator during your first month. They will introduce you to our services, project teams, appointment types, client standards and internal systems. You will begin by observing how the office operates, then gradually manage calls, bookings and visitors yourself. Once training is completed, you will be expected to run the reception area independently, with the Office Coordinator available when support is needed. Previous construction experience is not required. Hours, Pay and Flexibility This is a full-time, on-site position paying $19.00-$21.00 per hour , depending on relevant experience. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. , with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. On agreed days, there may be flexibility to work 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. when this suits the appointment schedule. Occasionally, a client meeting may require you to remain slightly later. This will be discussed in advance, all working time will be paid and hours above 40 in a workweek will be paid at 1.5 times the standard rate. An immediate start is available , although notice periods of up to four weeks can be considered. What We Need From You Experience from any professional customer-facing environment will be considered. A degree is not required.

Naturally confident and comfortable meeting new people Well-spoken and professional in person, by phone and through email Highly organized when managing several appointments Accurate with names, times, messages and client information Comfortable maintaining a polished, business-appropriate presentation Reliable, punctual and willing to take responsibility Calm when the office becomes busy or arrangements change Success will be measured through appointment accuracy, reception readiness, client feedback, communication between departments and reliable follow-through.
