Pomerene Hospital operates as a 25-bed, not-for-profit rural community hospital. As one of the largest employers in Holmes County, Pomerene Hospital serves not only the local community but also residents from all neighboring counties. We are looking for a full-time Receptionist for our Internal Medicine team. Hours for this position will be 8:00AM - 4:30PM. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with answering phones in a prompt and professional manner, scheduling patients, verifying insurance eligibility, filing preparing correspondence and charts, collecting payments and entering patient billing and registration data. Performs other clerical and administrative duties as assigned. Overall, provides excellent customer service to all patients, guests, and colleagues.
Essential Functions:
Performs a wide variety of clerical assignments with accuracy which may be confidential in nature. Communicates information effectively, in a polite and courteous manner, to everyone. Greets and directs patients in a warm and courteous manner while obtaining necessary patient information. Orders and maintains office supplies and equipment in an efficient manner. Schedules appointments and maintains the scheduling calendar with accurate and current data; confirms appointments for the provider, via a telephone call, at least one day in advance. Maintains/supports established department policies and procedures, objectives, safety, and environmental plans. Collects co-payment and payment from patients and creates charts for new patients. Assures authorization for release of medical information utilizing the appropriate medical release form.
Education:
High school diploma/GED - required. 1-3 years of administrative duties in a healthcare or medical setting - preferred.
