Job Summary Join our compassionate team as an Adoption Counselor and Receptionist, where your enthusiasm and animal-loving spirit will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their future families. In this dynamic role, you will serve as the welcoming face of our organization, guiding prospective adopters through the adoption process while providing exceptional customer service. You'll also assist with animal care duties, ensuring our animals are comfortable, healthy, and ready for their new homes. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to combine your passion for animals with your skills in communication and care, creating positive experiences for both pets and people. Responsibilities Greet visitors warmly, answer questions, and provide information about adoptable animals and our services Assist prospective adopters in selecting suitable pets based on their lifestyle and preferences Facilitate the adoption process by completing necessary paperwork and explaining policies clearly Maintain accurate records of adoptions, inquiries, and visitor interactions Support animal care activities including feeding, cleaning kennels, grooming, and basic veterinary assistance when needed Manage phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor Assist with light administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or updating records Experience Previous experience in animal handling, pet care, or kennel work preferred but not required; training will be provided Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners and visitors Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling supplies or animals during daily routines This position is ideal for energetic individuals who thrive in a lively environment dedicated to animal welfare.
