We are looking for someone who already understands the basics of working in a medical office and can confidently handle phones, scheduling, insurance, and patient payments. This is a busy pediatric practice. The right candidate must be dependable, organized, professional, friendly, and able to manage multiple responsibilities without becoming overwhelmed.
PREVIOUS MEDICAL OFFICE EXPERIENCE IS STRONGLY PREFERRED.
Responsibilities include: Answering and managing a busy multi-line phone system Checking patients in and out Scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling appointments Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits Reviewing and updating insurance and demographic information Understanding copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and patient responsibility Collecting copays and outstanding patient balances at the time of service Accurately entering information into the electronic medical record Scanning and maintaining patient documents Communicating effectively with providers and clinical staff Handling patient and parent questions professionally Maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Managing multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and excellent customer serviceREQUIRED SKILLS
Experience answering and managing a multi-line phone system Strong computer and data-entry skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail Dependable attendance and punctuality Professional and courteous communication, including during difficult patient interactionsHIGHLY PREFERRED
Previous medical front desk or medical receptionist experience Experience verifying health insurance Experience collecting copays and patient balances Familiarity with insurance terminology and patient responsibility Experience working with an electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system. ECW experience preferred. Pediatric office experiencePOSITION DETAILS
Full-Time Monday through Friday Approximately 8:00 AM-5:00 PM This is not an entry-level training position. Candidates with previous medical front desk, medical receptionist, insurance verification, or similar healthcare office experience will receive preference. We are looking for someone who wants to become a dependable, long-term member of our team and understands the importance of an efficient and welcoming front office.
