Full Job Description Job Summary:
Our Receptionist Team works together in managing our front desk on a daily basis and performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our hospital. You will welcome and greet clients who come to our hospital. You will coordinate front-desk activities, including scheduling appointments, answering and redirecting phone calls in addition to triaging patients over the phone. We are a high volume hospital which can lead to a fast paced environment. Ultimately, a Receptionist's duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes guests positively, and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.
Duties:
  • Greet and check-in clients and their pets with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and other inquiries from clients
  • Collect and record patient information, including medical history
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, waiting room, and exam rooms
  • Process payments for services rendered and handle billing inquiries
  • Coordinate prescription refills and communicate with pharmacies as needed
  • Provide general information about pet care, including nutrition, vaccinations, and preventative treatments
Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and processing payments
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures and sample collection techniques
  • Understanding of basic pet care practices and animal husbandry principles
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology and common medical procedures
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This is a full-time position with competitive pay.
