Position Summary The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, community partners, vendors, and employees. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming, compassionate, and professional environment while providing administrative and clerical support to the organization. Because the Receptionist frequently interacts with individuals experiencing serious illness, grief, or other sensitive circumstances, this position requires exceptional professionalism, empathy, discretion, and communication skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet and welcome patients, families, visitors, vendors, and employees in a professional and compassionate manner. Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously and route calls to the appropriate department or team member. Take accurate messages and ensure timely delivery to the appropriate individual. Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming reception and lobby area. Assist visitors with signing in and notify appropriate staff of their arrival. Provide general information regarding the organization while appropriately directing clinical, patient-specific, or confidential questions to qualified staff. Receive, sort, and distribute incoming packages, deliveries, and correspondence. Assist with outgoing mail and shipments as needed. Provide general administrative and clerical support, including scanning, copying, filing, faxing, data entry, and document preparation. Assist with maintaining office supplies and notify the appropriate individual when supplies need to be reordered. Support meeting preparation, conference room scheduling, and organizational events as requested. Assist departments with administrative projects as assigned. Maintain awareness of staff availability to appropriately direct calls and visitors. Protect patient, employee, and organizational information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, organizational policies, and applicable regulations. Immediately refer patient-care concerns, urgent clinical calls, complaints, or other sensitive matters to the appropriate clinical or leadership team member. Demonstrate compassion and sensitivity when interacting with patients and families who may be experiencing serious illness, end-of-life concerns, or grief. Follow organizational policies and procedures related to safety, emergency preparedness, confidentiality, and workplace conduct. Maintain dependable and punctual attendance to ensure consistent front-desk coverage. Perform other duties and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
