Job Description
- Job Overview
- We are seeking a personable, efficient, and accurate person to join our front office team. The ideal candidate will assist us in providing excellent customer service to our patients by answering phones, scheduling appointments, accepting payments, and reconciling insurance claims.

- Duties
- Greet patients when they arrive and start the check-in process.
- Answer phones, schedule patients, direct questions to the proper department.
- Checkout patients, accept payments, schedule follow-up appointments.
- Scan documents into the EHR system (electronic health system).
- File insurance claims and reconcile EOBs (explanation of benefits) from insurance companies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Responsible for keeping assigned areas clean and rotate through with the other staff in cleaning all bathrooms approximately once every two months
- Skills
- Experience in a medical clinic or optical setting is preferred, but not necessary. We offer on-the-job training
- Knowledge of Windows-based programs on a PC is preferred
- Proficiency in typing/keyboarding is required
- Familiarity with optical terminology and procedures can be learned on-the-job
- Strong commitment to customer service is a must
- Ability to work effectively in a busy office setting with other employees as a team to serve patients in an efficient, yet thorough, manner
- Understanding of front desk operations in a healthcare setting is helpful, but can be taught
- Experience working with the public is preferred, but not required
Pay:
$12.00- $14.
