Job Description

Busy GI office seeking enthusiastic and reliable Front Desk Receptionist!
Hours of work:
Monday through Thursday 8a.m. to 5p.m. and Friday 8a.m. to 1p.m. No weekends, no nights, and no holidays! Medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and PTO available after 90 days. 401-K available after 1 year of service.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES, TASKS and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone Works well as part of a team Collects patient identification cards Collects patient insurance information Ensures that documentation is completed and all necessary documents are signed by the patient Accurately registers new patients in the practice management system Updates patient accounts by recording personal and financial information in the revenue management system Collects copayments and deductibles as needed Records payments in the billing system or log as required Issues receipts for payments received Balances upfront collections at the end the shift Notifies clinical when patient is ready to proceed to the clinical area Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level Receives and opens office mail as needed Routes incoming calls and documents to the appropriate personnel Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information Schedules new patient and follow up appointments; manages referrals as assigned Maintains strict adherence to the practice's policies and procedures; reports needed changes and discrepancies Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook Attends all required education Regular and predictable attendance required Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned Bilingual is preferred. Highschool diploma or GED required. Associates degree or some college is also preferred. Must be able to pass a background check and urine drug screen prior to hire.
