Job Description
Compensation & Availability Requirements Starting pay is based on availability, flexibility, and willingness to cross-train within the facility. Please understand that scheduled business hours are not the same as employee working hours. Staff members may be required to arrive before opening, stay after closing, work during deep cleaning periods, complete shift handoffs, care for boarding pets after hours, or assist during high-volume operational needs. Applicants must have flexible availability and understand that animal care operations extend beyond customer-facing business hours. Front Desk Associate - Pet Resort (Barking Oaks Pet Resort) Barking Oaks Pet Resort is a high-end, fast-growing pet care facility in Central Texas. We are not a typical office environment — this is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you will be actively working with both people and dogs throughout your shift. The front desk is the central hub of our entire operation. You will manage communication between customers and staff, control scheduling, and ensure every guest experience runs smoothly from start to finish. About the Role This position requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to multitask in a high-energy environment. You will be interacting with customers constantly while also supporting daily operations across daycare, boarding, grooming, and training. This is not a slow-paced or low-stress job. It requires awareness, urgency, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Greet customers and provide a professional, welcoming experience Explain services (boarding, daycare, grooming, training) with confidence Enter and manage customer and pet information in the system Collect and verify vaccination records Schedule services accurately and efficiently Process payments and handle transactions Communicate clearly with both front and back-of-house teams Assist with maintaining a clean and organized facility Handle dogs of all sizes, including lifting 40+ lbs when needed Requirements Must be 18 years or older Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes Able to lift 40+ lbs Strong communication and multitasking skills Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Ability to work in a fast-paced environment What We're Looking For We are looking for individuals who are dependable, energetic, and take pride in their work.
