Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients. The Medical Receptionist will greet patients, schedule appointments, answer phones, verify patient information and insurance, collect payments, and provide administrative support to the healthcare team.Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner. Answer and direct incoming phone calls. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records. Collect copays, deductibles, and other payments. Obtain and process required patient forms and documentation. Communicate with patients regarding appointments, referrals, and general questions. Coordinate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other staff. Handle medical records and other sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Check patients out and schedule follow-up appointments. Maintain a clean and organized reception and waiting area. Perform general clerical and administrative duties as needed.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Comfortable using computers, electronic health records (EHR), and office equipment. Ability to multitask in a busy medical environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures preferred.Pay:
