Job Description
Front Desk Receptionist Eye Care Physicians & Surgeons, P.C. Eye Care Physicians & Surgeons is a busy, fast-paced, and growing ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced, professional, and customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our practice, you will play an essential role in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring the efficient operation of our front office. This is a full-time, semi-flexible position offering competitive pay and benefits. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner. Answer a high volume of incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling appointments and addressing general inquiries. Register new patients and update existing patient demographics and medical information. Verify insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorizations, and collect required documentation. Collect copayments and outstanding balances in accordance with office policies. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems. Scan, fax, file, and process medical documents. Coordinate with physicians, technicians, and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow. Provide administrative support to physicians and office staff as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations. Required Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years of recent front desk experience in a medical office is required. Experience scheduling appointments, registering patients, verifying insurance, and collecting patient payments. Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and demeanor with outstanding customer service skills. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to both our Winchester and Woodstock, Virginia offices as business needs require. Ability to work shifts of up to 10 hours when needed. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in ophthalmology or optometry is strongly preferred. Experience with Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) is a plus. Knowledge of ophthalmic or general medical terminology. Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations.
