Job Description
Job Summary We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and friendly Front Desk Receptionist/Office Assistant to be the first point of contact for our patients. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while managing various administrative tasks. Your ability to juggle multiple responsibilities will be key to our office's smooth operation, making you an invaluable member of our team. The ideal candidate is personable, efficient, and able to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Must be proficient with new technology, and can provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a caring and organized presence. We are looking for someone ready to settle down with a company and learn all we have to offer! What you'll do Greet patients warmly and create a welcoming experience Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the clinic's schedule efficiently Check patients in and out, verify insurance, and collect payments Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all forms are completed Coordinate with the optometrists and technicians to keep the clinic flow running smoothly Handle basic administrative tasks such as emails, filing, and supply ordering Assist with patient education on products or services as needed Answer billing, coverage, verification of insurance, copay and deductible questions professionally and compassionately Prepare and submit insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients Basic qualifications Prior experience in medical, dental, or optometry front office preferred (but not required) Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure Comfortable with technology — experience with EHR systems (CrystalPM, Compulink, RevolutionEHR, or similar) is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required Preferred qualifications Bilingual abilities are a plus for enhancing communication with diverse clients. Previous experience as a dental or medical receptionist is highly desirable. Familiarity with clerical tasks and administrative support functions. Demonstrated experience in customer support roles that emphasize phone etiquette. Schedule & Compensation Full-time, Monday-Friday (no weekends!)
