Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary practice. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism upon arrival. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Handle medical collections and process payments accurately. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's health needs and treatment plans. Assist veterinary staff with animal handling, restraint, and care as needed. Provide information on pet care, grooming, training, and other services offered by the clinic. Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming for clients and their pets. Manage phone calls, emails, and inquiries in a timely manner. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and basic animal husbandry practices is essential. Experience with medical collection processes is a plus. Familiarity with aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures is beneficial. Strong skills in animal handling, including dog handling and restraint techniques. Experience in kennel care or equine experience is advantageous. Ability to demonstrate compassion for animals while providing excellent customer service to clients. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing records and appointments. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
