Job Description

Job:
To facilitate the Chief Executive Officer, direct clients to family services. To help facilitate clients when they walk in to get people to the right department. The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for many who come to Union Mission and must communicate effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Daily opening and closing the doors of Union Mission.
  • Welcome and greet the public and clients.
  • Answers the phone and routes all incoming calls to proper extensions.
  • Follow up each day with after-hours voicemails, forwarding them to proper extensions.
  • Handle all incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Handle all incoming FedEx/UPS, vendors, etc., package drop offs, and contacting specific people to make them aware of deliveries.
  • Update current homeless shelters, recoveries, assistance locations, and information for the front desk.
  • Offer the public different options with assistance to meet their needs that UMM cannot meet.
  • Route all clients to Family Services in a timely manner.
  • Maintain public restrooms and lobby, ensuring they are clean and presentable.
  • Assist Family Services with scheduling appointments when necessary.
  • Receive, or coordinate with Accounts Receivable, the incoming monetary donations (cash and check) from donors at the front desk and notify the CEO.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Administration:
. To intercept and screen all telephone calls for the CEO, and the entire Union Mission.
  • To represent the leadership and the UMM well with any/all visitors.
  • To perform other related tasks when requested by Administration.
Managers:
Develop and maintain a calendar of daily guest appointments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Secretarial skills such as typing, communication skills, writing skills, and skills in Office 365.
Credentials and Experience:
  • High School graduate.
Organizational Relationship:
The CEO is accountable to the Board for total operation of UMM. The Front Desk Receptionist reports to the CEO. People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
