This vital role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience while supporting the efficient operation of our medical practice. Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar Verify patient information and update medical records accurately Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately Handle patient check-in and check-out processes Collect and process payments, insurance information, and co-pays Maintain a clean and organized reception area Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations and confidentiality standards Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and office software Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion Positive attitude and professional appearance Why work for Preston Taylor Community Health Center?
