Receptionist II Cheyenne Radiology Group is looking for an experienced and dependable Receptionist II to join our Patient Access team. This position is designed for someone who is confident managing a busy front desk, understands patient flow, and is ready to take on additional responsibilities in scheduling, telephone communication, and medical records. The Receptionist II performs all Receptionist I responsibilities while serving as a more advanced resource within the reception team. You will independently manage patient check-in and readiness for all imaging modalities while also scheduling X-rays, managing incoming calls, and processing medical record requests. What You'll Do Patient Experience & Check-In Welcome patients warmly and professionally upon arrival. Verify patient identity and arrival information. Independently check in and ready patients for all imaging modalities. Manage multiple patient appointments and arrivals while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Escort patients to designated waiting areas, examination rooms, or other appropriate locations. Communicate wait times and next steps clearly. Coordinate patient flow with technologists and clinical staff. Assist patients with appropriate comfort needs. X-Ray Scheduling Schedule X-ray examinations according to established scheduling guidelines. Accurately enter and confirm appointment information. Provide patients with appropriate appointment and preparation information. Identify scheduling questions or issues requiring additional assistance. Telephone & Communication Answer incoming calls professionally and efficiently. Determine the appropriate destination for calls and transfer them as needed. Provide information within the scope of the position. Obtain appropriate information before transferring or escalating calls. Maintain professional telephone etiquette while managing a high-volume environment. Medical Records Receive and process medical record requests according to established procedures. Verify required information and authorization. Route requests appropriately when additional review is needed. Maintain patient confidentiality throughout the process. Team Support Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area. Assist Receptionist I staff with routine front-end questions and processes. Demonstrate strong knowledge of Patient Access workflows. Recognize when an issue can be resolved independently and when it should be escalated. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, technologists, and coworkers. Support other Patient Access responsibilities as assigned. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent. Previous healthcare, medical reception, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in patient check-in and front-desk responsibilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage priorities in a high-volume environment. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality. Dependable, professional, and team-oriented. Comfortable learning and using computer systems and healthcare technology.
