Tag Clerk/Drivers License Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Tag Clerk or Driver's License Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting customers with vehicle tags, registrations, title transfers, driver's license services, and other agency-related transactions. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with state regulations and agency procedures. Key Responsibilities Process vehicle registrations, renewals, title transfers, and tag transactions. Assist customers with driver's license and identification card services, as applicable. Review applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Collect fees and process cash, check, credit card, and electronic payments. Maintain accurate records and enter transaction data into agency systems. Explain policies, procedures, and requirements to customers. Answer phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries professionally. Balance daily cash drawers and prepare financial reports. Ensure compliance with state laws, regulations, and agency procedures. File and organize documents in accordance with record retention requirements. Assist with general office duties, including copying, scanning, and data entry. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Previous customer service or administrative office experience. Strong computer and data entry skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience working in a tag agency, DMV, county office, or similar government-related environment. Cash handling and bookkeeping experience. Knowledge of motor vehicle registration and title procedures. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers and printers.
