MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT SALARY & BENEFITS
Frontier Middle School in the Moses Lake School District is seeking a visionary and dynamic educational leader to serve as Principal who establishes a widely shared vision/mission for learning that aligns with the District's strategic plan. Frontier is a relationship-driven, student-centered school with a strong sense of community, where collaboration, pride, and meaningful connections make it a rewarding place to work. QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or related field Valid Washington State Principal credential (or ability to obtain) Successful teaching experience Demonstrated leadership experience working effectively with staff, students, and community Evidence of training and experience aligned to the responsibilities of the position Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board and Superintendent may find appropriate
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Successful experience as a school principal Secondary experience, preferably at the middle school level Experience leading effective school-wide Professional Learning Communities Experience implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Knowledge and experience with the Danielson Instructional Framework Experience supporting multilingual learners Multicultural/bilingual background; Spanish fluency preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Vision Develop and lead a clear, shared vision focused on student success and well-being Foster a positive, inclusive school culture with high expectations for all Lead implementation of the School Improvement Plan aligned to district priorities Distribute leadership and build staff capacity Collaborate with stakeholders to improve student outcomes using data and best practices Build and sustain a relationship-driven, student-centered school culture that reflects strong community pride and connection Provide stable, consistent leadership that rebuilds trust and unites the school around a shared vision for success Balance visibility with strategic decision-making to effectively lead both people and systems Professional Learning Community Lead and sustain a collaborative PLC culture focused on student learning Promote continuous improvement through data use, reflection, and professional growth Support implementation of research-based instructional practices Ensure PLC work remains focused, aligned, and results-oriented to strengthen both culture and instructional systems Instructional Leadership & the Learning Environment Support and evaluate instruction to improve teaching and learning Ensure alignment to standards, best practices, and district frameworks Guide staff in using data to inform instruction Promote effective use of technology and innovative practices Maintain a focus on college and career readiness Use data and key educational systems to guide decision-making while empowering staff to support implementation Student Support and Engagement Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, a proactive and preventative approach to behavior management that fosters a school culture where positive behaviors are valued, taught, and reinforced. Support social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices Partner with families and staff to improve attendance and engagement Strengthen consistent, schoolwide systems that support both student behavior and academic success Community Engagement Build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community Maintain clear, consistent, two-way communication Partner with community organizations to support students and families Foster a strong sense of belonging and shared ownership among all stakeholders Supervision and Evaluation of Personnel Supervise and evaluate staff in alignment with district frameworks and expectations Provide timely, actionable feedback and coaching Support professional growth and development Address performance concerns through appropriate processes Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and collective bargaining agreements Hold high expectations for staff while providing consistent support and follow-through Communication Communicate clearly and consistently with all stakeholders Maintain high visibility and accessibility within the school community Facilitate resolution of conflicts and complex issues Model professionalism, respect, and active listening Build trust through transparency, consistency, and follow-through Management and Administration Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and support for shared decision-making processes. Work collaboratively with district administrators to secure resources to support the needs of your school and students. Manage human resources and budgets according to district and program requirements, including ASB. Develop and monitor plans for the efficient and safe operation of the school facility and grounds. Provide an emotionally and physically safe learning environment for all. Demonstrate knowledge of and uphold all policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and contractual obligations to manage the school facility and instructional program effectively. Supervise and approve the preparation and timely submission of all school reports and forms for the district office, e.g., payroll, enrollment, work orders, etc. Professional Preparation and Growth Engage in ongoing professional learning and leadership development Collaborate with district leadership and colleagues Set and monitor personal and school-wide goals Other Experience with district systems (e.g., Google Suite, Skyward, Homeroom, Red Rover) is preferred Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
