Position Overview We are seeking a motivated, detail oriented Admissions Counselor to join our team in Sebastopol, California. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about international education, enjoys building relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Admissions Counselor serves as a key point of contact for students and families throughout the study abroad experience. This role combines advising, customer service, application and enrollment management, student support, while collaborating closely with students, parents, university partners, and colleagues across the organization. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator who can confidently guide students through the enrollment process while providing exceptional support and care. A strong interest in study abroad, cross-cultural experiences, and higher education is essential. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Sebastopol, California. Duties and Responsibilities Guide students and their families through every stage of the enrollment process, from initial inquiry through their return from abroad. Host orientations and informational sessions for students and families. Collaborate with on-site teams and the SAI VP of Enrollment Services to support students while abroad, helping address challenges and provide timely solutions when issues arise. Manage application processing, including issuing acceptance materials, following up on outstanding items or questions, and ensuring all required documentation and information are received. Utilize the SAI database to communicate with students, track application progress, and maintain course schedules and descriptions. Manage outgoing transcripts across all locations. Coordinate with academic and admissions staff at overseas partner institutions, including collecting, organizing, and distributing relevant course information. Collaborate with the Vice President of Enrollment Services to review enrollment data and develop creative solutions to enhance the admissions and enrollment experience. Serve as Scholarship Chair, overseeing scholarship-related processes and communications. Provide general support to the Admissions Department as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Bachelor's degree. This is not a remote position; it requires working in the SAI office in Sebastopol, California. Excellent written communication skills. Comfortable with presentations to groups of students and their families. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, G Suite, database utilities (Hubspot). Skills and desire to work collaboratively with diverse personalities and cultures. Ability to multitask and work well under deadline pressures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
Preferred Work experience in higher education. Sales and customer service experience. International experience; (may be an undergraduate study abroad program). Other Information Includes medical, dental and vision plan + life insurance, paid holidays and vacations.
