Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) at Gravenstein Union School District Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 5/20/2026 Contact Keri Pugno Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $34.00 - $45.00 Per Hour Length of Work Year 184 Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports the delivery of speech and language services to students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The SLPA assists with implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, conducting therapy activities, documenting student progress, and supporting communication development in accordance with California Department of Education guidelines and state regulations.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities include:
Provide direct speech and language intervention services to individual students and small groups under the supervision of a licensed SLP Implement therapy plans and IEP goals developed by the supervising SLP Support students with articulation, language development, fluency, pragmatic language, and social communication skills in classroom, small group, and pull-out service settings Collect and maintain accurate therapy data and progress notes, including clerical and organizational tasks related to speech-language services Prepare therapy materials, classroom supports, and instructional resources Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and other service providers Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA and district policies Follow all California SLPA supervision and ethical requirements Requirements / Qualifications Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license preferred Candidates currently enrolled in an approved SLPA program and actively working toward California SLPA licensure are encouraged to apply Employment may be contingent upon obtaining required California licensure within a district-established timeline Requirements / Qualifications Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license preferred Candidates currently enrolled in an approved SLPA program and actively working toward California SLPA licensure are encouraged to apply Employment may be contingent upon obtaining required California licensure within a district-established timeline CalPERS Links Not all postings qualify for CalPERS.
