Café Operations - Offering a warm, community-focused space where guests can enjoy bowls, healthy snacks, coffee, tea, and fresh daily offerings. Our goal is to make healthy eating simple, scalable, and sustainable. The Role We're looking for a skilled and dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team at The Wylde Playground and Café. You'll work directly under Head Chef Nick Cobarruvias, executing his recipes with consistency and care across our café window service and Bowl Club production. This is a hands-on kitchen role for someone who takes pride in their craft, thrives in a team environment, and wants to be part of a growing brand from the ground floor. This position requires availability Friday through Sunday (8-hour shifts), with the potential for more as we grow. Responsibilities Execute Chef Nick's recipes with precision and consistency across all service channels Maintain high food quality and presentation standards for café window service and meal prep production Work collaboratively within a small, fast-moving kitchen team Maintain station cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards Manage mise en place, prep lists, and station readiness for service Multitask effectively across multiple tickets and production tasks during peak periods Communicate clearly with teammates and front-of-house/window staff Follow portioning, labeling, and storage protocols for grab-and-go and subscription meal production Contribute positively to kitchen culture and the WPC brand mission What We're Looking For 1+ years of professional kitchen experience (line cook, prep cook, or equivalent) Ability to execute recipes reliably and consistently under direction Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment Team-first attitude with solid communication and coachability Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization Alignment with WPC's values: healthy, high-quality, high-protein, whole-food cooking Weekend availability is required (Fri/Sat/Sun); Thursday availability a plus Food Handler's Certificate required or willingness to obtain before start date Culinary degree or formal training a plus, not required

Schedule Required:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday — 8-hour shifts

Optional/Potential:

Monday/Thursday shifts as business grows

Total:

24-32 hours per week depending on schedule Compensation We offer competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience, with a clear path for growth as WPC scales.

Pay:

$24.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience Performance-based raises tied to skill development and role growth Opportunity for increased hours and advancement as the team expands

Time Off PTO:
