Responsibilities Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal operations. Operate bucket trucks and other equipment to access difficult or elevated areas efficiently. Implement arborist rigging techniques for controlled tree dismantling or branch removal, ensuring safety for team members and property. Conduct tree removals with precision, including stump grinding and debris cleanup, following established safety protocols. Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to map and document tree locations, health assessments, and maintenance activities. Perform plant pruning care to promote healthy growth, aesthetic appeal, and safety standards. Maintain equipment such as chainsaws, ropes, harnesses, and bucket trucks in excellent condition through regular inspections and proper usage. Requirements Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscaping, or arboriculture. Demonstrated ability to safely operate bucket trucks and chainsaws; certification in bucket operation is preferred. Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree care practices, and tree removal procedures. Familiarity with GIS mapping tools and landscape maintenance practices is a plus. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and working at heights. Growing experience in horticulture or dendrology (the study of trees) is desirable.
