Responsibilities Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal tasks. Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches efficiently and securely. Implement arborist rigging techniques for the controlled removal or pruning of large limbs and trees. Conduct tree removals with precision, ensuring safety for team members and surrounding property. Use chainsaws, pruning shears, and other tools to carry out detailed tree care activities such as plant pruning care and trimming. Apply GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for mapping tree locations and documenting maintenance activities. Follow strict safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry standards. Assist in landscape maintenance tasks like lawn care, planting, or general landscape upkeep when needed. Maintain equipment including chainsaws, bucket trucks, rigging gear, and safety harnesses in excellent condition. Qualifications Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscaping, or arboriculture. Strong knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, and tree removal techniques. Experience operating bucket trucks, aerial lifts, or similar equipment safely. Familiarity with arborist rigging techniques for complex tree work projects. Ability to use GIS mapping tools for site documentation is a plus. Knowledge of dendrology (the study of trees) to identify different species and understand growth patterns. Skilled in the use of chainsaws and other hand tools used in tree care operations. Commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times during outdoor work activities. Growing experience in landscaping or lawn care is advantageous but not required. Excellent physical fitness with the ability to climb trees comfortably and work at heights safely.
