Job Description

This is a fall internship. Must be available September - November. Opportunity to start earlier if desired and/or extend based on performance.
Overview:
This is a hands-on role assisting with residential tree work in the St. Louis area. You'll work directly alongside the owner on active job sites and gain practical experience in professional tree work. This position is best suited for someone interested in forestry, natural resource management, or tree work, and wants real field experience and a look at how a small tree service business operates.
Responsibilities:
Work alongside the owner and receive on-the-job training and education. Assist with residential tree removal, trimming, and replacement jobs. Work with chainsaws, rigging equipment, wood chippers, log splitters, and other professional tools under supervision and with proper training. Assist with job setup, cleanup and material handling as needed. Opportunity for exposure to small business operations, if interested. Safety training is provided, and adherence to safety procedures is required at all times
Requirements:
College student or recent graduate pursuing or interested in forestry, natural resources, or a related field. Located in the St. Louis area and able to travel to job sites throughout the region. Reliable transportation required. Physically able to assist with outdoor tree work. Access to a truck is a plus and may allow for additional scheduling flexibility, but is not required. No prior tree work experience is required. Full on-the-job training will be provided.
Schedule & Pay:
This is a part-time position paid at a flat rate of $400 per week for up to 20 hours. You will receive the full weekly pay regardless of whether the full 20 hours are needed, so long as you have full availability for that week. Additional hours may be available if desired, paid at an hourly rate of $20. Tree work can be weather-dependent, and scheduling may vary week to week. Weekend and evening availability is required, though some flexibility in scheduling is possible. Start and end dates are flexible and dependent upon your college schedule.
