Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tree Climber and play a vital role in maintaining healthy, beautiful, and safe urban and rural landscapes. In this energetic position, you will utilize your climbing expertise and arborist skills to perform tree care, removal, pruning, and trimming operations. Your work will help enhance the safety, aesthetics, and ecological health of trees in diverse environments. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your outdoor work experience while contributing to community beautification and safety. Duties Safely ascend and descend trees using climbing gear, rigging techniques, and harnesses to perform pruning, trimming, or removal tasks. Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access hard-to-reach areas efficiently and securely. Use arborist rigging techniques to carefully dismantle or shape trees, ensuring safety for people and property below. Conduct tree removal projects with precision, including stump grinding and debris cleanup after work completion. Apply horticultural knowledge to plant pruning care that promotes healthy growth and enhances landscape aesthetics. Follow strict safety protocols during all climbing activities, equipment operation, and tree care procedures. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information System) tools for mapping tree locations and documenting work performed in various landscapes. Qualifications Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscaping, or arboriculture. Demonstrated proficiency in tree care practices such as pruning, trimming, and tree removal. Skilled in the use of chainsaws, bucket trucks, rigging gear, and other arborist tools. Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques and safety procedures for climbing and working at heights. Familiarity with GIS technology for mapping or data collection is a plus. Strong understanding of dendrology (the study of trees), plant growth habits, and landscape maintenance principles. Ability to follow detailed safety protocols while working in elevated positions or with heavy equipment. Excellent physical fitness with the ability to climb trees safely for extended periods; outdoor work experience is essential.
