Job Description
We are seeking an individual with prior tree climbing experience who loves to work outdoors; is not afraid of hard, physical labor; and is willing to learn new skills. The candidate must also be able to be a part of a team, being able to work with others to safely get the job done. Essential Duties
- Safely climb trees of varying heights utilizing ropes, bucket trucks, and/or spikes
- Be knowledgeable about the most efficient and safest ways to trim/prune trees, remove limbs and dead wood, and completely take trees down
- Be able to execute the above bullet point
- Be able to climb trees in a variety of conditions, such as light winds, heat, and light rain
- Move, drag, carry, and chip brush
- Move, carry, and load small-large pieces of wood
- Utilize hand
- gasoline
- and battery-powered equipment to saw, move, and chip brush and wood
- Assist in the lowering of limbs and large chunks of wood as they are being cut from the tree with various ropes and lines
- Drive various pieces of equipment and trucks as able
- Assist with cleanup of job sites by raking and removing debris
- Assist in ensuring the safety of the crew by maintaining vigilance during operations and alerting other crew members of potential hazards Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to use a chainsaw and other power tools
- Willingness and ability to learn how to use equipment and tools otherwise unfamiliar with
- Previous climbing experience
- Comfortability working outdoors in various weather conditions Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission
- Ability to drive large trucks (i.e., bucket/forestry/boom trucks), preferably having a CDL
- Ability to drive trucks with trailers in-tow Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor for approximately 8 hours/day
- Ability to lift light-heavy loads
- Ability to drag brush
- Ability to bend over, squat down, climb stairs and ladders, and lift arms and loads above head
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to withstand harsh weather conditions, such as high heat, rain, snow, and very low temperatures
- Ability to work in multiple terrains
- hills, rocky surfaces, uneven ground, sand, tall grass, wooded areas, etc.
- Ability to climb trees with ropes and spikes No minimum education requirement.
