Duties Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal tasks. Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches efficiently. Execute rigging procedures for tree removal or branch control using arborist rigging techniques to ensure safe dismantling. Conduct tree care activities such as pruning, shaping, planting, and health assessments based on horticultural best practices. Use chainsaws and hand tools responsibly for cutting, trimming, and removing trees or branches. Apply safety protocols rigorously during all operations to protect yourself, team members, property, and the environment. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including GIS (Geographic Information System) data when applicable for mapping and planning purposes. Assist with landscaping tasks such as lawn care and plant pruning to enhance overall site aesthetics. Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving arborist rigging techniques or tree removal plans. Skills Proven experience in outdoor work environments with a focus on tree climbing and arboriculture. Strong knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, planting, and health assessment. Skilled in the operation of bucket trucks and aerial lifts for elevated work access. Expertise in rigging methods specific to arborist rigging techniques for safe tree dismantling. Proficiency with chainsaws, hand tools, and safety equipment essential for tree work. Familiarity with GIS technology for mapping or project planning purposes is a plus. Knowledge of horticulture principles and dendrology (the study of trees) to inform proper care strategies. Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols during all aspects of outdoor work involving heights and heavy equipment.
