What We Can Achieve Together:

The Chattahoochee Fall Line (CFL) Science & Planning Specialist will develop, manage and advance conservation programs, plans and methods for the Conservancy's Chattahoochee Fall Line program. Your talents and efforts will help us achieve our ambitious land protection, conservation, and stewardship goals. Reporting to the CFL Program Director, this role collaborates with and supports the CFL Stewardship & Fire Program Manager as well as the CFL Land Protection Manager in advancing program goals.

Work Location:

This is a hybrid position requiring regular in-person attendance at our CFL Mauk, GA office. Candidates must be willing and able to reside within a one-hour commuting distance of the CFL office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The CFL Science & Planning Specialist provides technical leadership and support to the CFL program and Georgia business unit and plans and influences land protection, preserve management programs, and stewardship. The CFL Science & Planning Specialist addresses critical threats to natural systems and individual species, fosters cross-site learning among conservation community, and supplies conservation planning teams with site or landscape level information relevant to the planning process. The CFL Science & Planning Specialist develops and implements conservation strategies and employs a full range of protection tools to acquire varying degrees of legal interest in land and implements a variety of strategies to secure public and private support for TNC conservation priorities. The CFL Science & Planning Specialist coordinates community support, informs and collaborates with key internal and external partners, coordinates multiple projects, sets deadlines and manages to completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

Supervises no staff but may oversee and direct work of office volunteers or interns.

Performs tasks with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context.

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, i.e., media, government officials, internal scientists.

Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).

Experience with communication via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.

Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.

Skill and experience with ArcGIS software.

Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $62,000 - $67,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
