Horticulturist - Tropical & Interior Plants Advance your plant knowledge in a specialized field of horticulture. $19-$22/Hour DOE + Benefits | No Weekends | Company Vehicle Provided Horticultural Experience and/or Horticulture Education Required We are looking for someone who already has a strong foundation in plants and horticulture through professional experience, education or a combination of both. Qualified backgrounds include professional interior plantscaping, plant nurseries, greenhouses, garden centers, growing operations, botanical settings or other professional plant-care environments, as well as education in horticulture, plant science, botany, agronomy or a related field. Heroman Services is seeking a Horticulturist to professionally care for tropical and specialty plants at commercial properties throughout the Mobile area. We'll build on your existing plant knowledge with specialized training in professional interior plant care and our innovative plant media system. What You'll Do Care for tropical foliage, ornamentals and specialty plants Provide precise watering, pruning, grooming and fertilization Monitor plant health and identify insects, disease and signs of stress Evaluate growing conditions, diagnose plant problems and provide corrective care Manage the ongoing plant care at the commercial properties assigned to you Build professional relationships with clients and fellow Horticultural Team members Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional horticulture or plant-care experience, formal education in horticulture, plant science, botany, agronomy or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional plant-care experience Strong plant identification, care and diagnostic skills Dependable, organized and able to work independently Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to safely lift and carry plants, equipment and supplies Our Benefits Health, dental and vision insurance Paid vacation Paid holidays Paid sick leave Employee discount If you're ready to enjoy the air-conditioned side of horticulture while putting your existing plant knowledge to work—with independence, weekday hours and no weekends—we'd like to talk with you.
