Job Description

Mt. Graham Golf Course, located in Thatcher, AZ , is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Irrigation Technician ! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon , you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. Perform preventative maintenance on the irrigation system, including lake recirculation systems and water features. Identify wet and dry areas and adjust sprinkler heads as needed. Maintain inventory of irrigation parts and tools to minimize downtime. Maintain working knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements. Operate, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including distribution lines, valve risers, electrical components, computers, and irrigation control wiring. Report major irrigation system breaks immediately to the Head Irrigation Technician or Superintendent and maintain a daily repair log. Prioritize irrigation repairs and manage time efficiently. Conduct monthly inspections of all sprinkler heads throughout the golf facility. Routinely inspect irrigation system components to ensure proper operation. Assist with winterization and blowout of the irrigation system, including water lines, valves, and pump stations. Incorporate safe work practices in job performance. Perform other duties as required. Certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license. Regularly stands and walks. Occasionally sits, climbs or balances, and tastes or smells. Regularly uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds. Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and may be exposed to electrical hazards. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in extreme cold or heat (non-weather). Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers, and equipment manuals may be in English).
