Cannabis Extraction Technician

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Extraction Technician to join our processing facility. The primary responsibility of this role is executing efficient and safe BHO extractions while maintaining strict quality and compliance standards. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in hydrocarbon extraction methodologies. Candidates who also possess experience with distillation (short-path or wiped-film) and advanced post-processing techniques (winterization, filtration, and crystallization) will be given top priority.
Duties & Responsibilities Execute BHO Extraction:
Perform daily hydrocarbon extractions using closed-loop systems according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain Safety Standards:
Safely handle pressurized gases, solvents, and heavy machinery in compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
Facility Maintenance:
Clean, sanitize, and maintain extraction equipment and laboratory environments to prevent cross-contamination.
Data Tracking:
Document and log all extraction data, yields, and inventory accurately within Metrc tracking system.
Quality Control:
Monitor product quality throughout the extraction cycle to ensure optimal terpene and cannabinoid retention.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with hydrocarbon/BHO extraction systems.
Required:
Strong understanding of closed-loop system operation, solvent recovery, and safety protocols.
Preferred:
Direct experience with short-path distillation, wiped-film distillation, or isolation techniques.
Preferred:
Proficiency in post-processing steps like winterization, degassing, and purging.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a laboratory environment.
Compliance:
Must be 21+ years old and able to pass a state-required background check for cannabis industry employment. Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 32.0 per week
